After a fifth edition exceptionally organized between Assisi and Rome, the 6th World Day of the Poor will take place on November 13th at the local level, in dioceses, parishes, and movements. In Rome, the pope will celebrate a Mass and participate in a lunch with the poor.

In the morning, the pope will celebrate Mass at 10 am in St. Peter's Basilica, for this day with the theme "Jesus Christ became poor for you". He will then have lunch with the poor: from 2017 to 2019, this meal took place in the Paul VI Hall of the Vatican, arranged for the occasion like an immense canteen. Additionally, 5,000 packages will be distributed to as many underprivileged families.

The World Day of the Poor was launched by Pope Francis after the Jubilee of the Homeless organized by the Fratello association, during the Year of Mercy. In his concluding letter of the holy year, Misericordia et misera, on November 21, 2016, the pope had established a day dedicated solely to the poor, set on the 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time.

And you, what are you doing for this 6th World Day of the Poor?
